On my way home from work yesterday, my bike hit 44444.4km so I thought I'd be dorky and take a photo. That's not all my riding, I only got the bike on the road this past May with 37000km on it. Still, over 7000km in one season is a lot of fun on the bike.

There's an article I've been meaning to post and comment on which covers just that.
Not bikes specifically, but the difference between active and passive safety and the relative effectiveness of both. It comes with statistics for various four-wheeled vehicles and the numbers are surprising.
I'd love to see it done with bikes added. I bet it'd be just as enlightening.

I'd love to get a bike, but I'm going to have to research safety statistics first so I can present a good argument to the two women in my life who would kill me if I got one.
